Our History

In 1965, the inception of Verdun Walsh Real Estate by Verdun and Val Walsh in Gladesville marked a significant milestone. As one of Sydney's pioneering strata agencies, our story is intertwined with the dawn of strata title units, which emerged in 1961.

During those early days, our services encompassed a broad spectrum of real estate offerings. Rapidly, Verdun and Val established a formidable reputation, becoming sought-after figures in the industry. With the introduction of the Strata Schemes (Freehold Development) Act 1973, Val's teaching background became an asset as she emerged as the go-to authority on strata management matters. She even penned a newspaper column, responding to queries from owners navigating this nascent field.

In 1985, Verdun and Val transitioned into retirement, paving the way for their daughter, Deanne Hinton, and Amanda White to assume the reins. Focusing solely on Strata Management, they rebranded the company as Verdun Walsh Strata. Deanne and Amanda's ethical and well-rounded approach, coupled with their extensive strata knowledge, earned them a commendable reputation. They adopted a capped approach to their portfolio size, prioritizing quality over quantity, leading to waiting lists of eager clients wanting to experience the Verdun Walsh touch.

Fast forward to today…

In 2018, Trent Logue joined Verdun Walsh, eventually acquiring the company from Deanne and Amanda as they embraced retirement. Given the legacy Deanne and Amanda had built, finding the right successor was a meticulous and important process.

Trent's journey began in 1994 as a Residential Property Manager in Canberra, his father's agency being his initial training ground. Exploring the realms of commercial property, he joined Knight Frank in Canberra and went on to hold pivotal roles in prominent corporations like Mirvac, Colliers International, Multiplex, and the Cromwell Property Group over the next two decades.

In 2015, Trent sought a change but remained committed to the property sector. Upon investigating the burgeoning strata industry, he recognised both its rapid growth and the inefficiencies that marred it. This revelation fuelled his determination to leverage the strategic disciplines acquired in his corporate roles and make a difference. Thus began the next phase of his career.

Verdun Walsh acknowledges that tradition need not dictate every aspect of practice. Our pursuit of innovation involves identifying common tasks and streamlining them for efficiency. For the less frequent yet substantial challenges—like overseeing significant building projects—we are committed to swift and resourceful solutions. This journey of perpetual enhancement is an ever-rewarding one, driving us forward with enthusiasm and dedication.
